Dr. Sotiere Savopoulos, M.D.

Sotiere E. Savopoulos MD was raised in Bear, De. In 1985 he received his Bachelors of Science in Biology with Minors in both Chemistry and Bible from Houghton College.  He then attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and received his medical degree in 1989.  He pursued a Family Medicine residency and Obstetrical fellowship at Franklin Square Hospital  from 1989 to 1993 during which he received the Family Medicine Resident Teaching Award.

After completing his fellowship he moved to western Maryland to start Terra Alta Family Practice in July of 1993.   During this time he worked closely with Garrett County Memorial Hospital. He continued to practice medicine in Terra Alta for 10 years and later moved the practice to Oakland Maryland where it became known as Cornerstone Family Medicine.

Doctor Savopoulos continues to be Board Certified in Family Medicine and has delivered over 2,500 babies during his 30+ year career. He is also the current Chief of Obstetrics at Garrett Regional Medical Center.

Pursuing a relationship with Christ is intertwined with what he does professionally and personally.  He is married to Susan, his high school sweet heart, and together they have three grown children. He enjoys working with young people both as a soccer coach and as a youth group leader at church.  Some of his other areas of enjoyment include horseback riding, gardening, singing, hiking and spending time with his family.

Juan Ramos, DO

Dr. Ramos was born and raised in Douglas Wyoming. At age 17 he joined the Army and served for 2 years as a Cavalry Scout. Always in search of a challenge he set his sights on becoming a Special Forces Medic. In 2005 he was selected to join the Green Berets as a Medic. Over the next 11 years he deployed with the 3rd Special Forces Group three times in support of the Global War on Terror. Those 11 years were instrumental in forming his love for medicine. His career in the military would be cut short due to a severe neck injury that left him unable to continue his duties as a Special Forces soldier. While rehabilitating from his injury and finishing out his last years in the military he completed his pre-medical degree by attending night school and graduated with a degree in Health Science from Campbell University in 2015. His love for the Lord and passion to serve others led him to Liberty University College Of Osteopathic Medicine in Lynchburg, VA, where he completed medical school in 2020. Residency then brought the Ramos family to Casper, WY where Dr. Ramos participated in the University Of Wyoming Family Medicine residency program. During his time there he served as chief resident during his second year and specialized in Family Medicine with a focus in Obstetrics, Rural Medicine, and Medically Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder.

This journey would not have been possible without the love and support of his wife, Raychael, whom he married in 2008. She has been his backbone throughout this journey and along the way has blessed their family with 6 beautiful children. Together, Juan and Raychael strive to serve the Lord as Dr. Ramos provides healthcare to the people of our community.
